AMOS REX SS25 BY MINTTU VESALA

AMOS REX SS25 is a visual manifesto curated by Creative Director Minttu Vesala – a declaration of the new wave of Finnish fashion.

The multifaceted event takes over the entire museum, showcasing a comprehensive selection of bold, artistic and experimental fashion by the emerging generation of Finnish designers.

The main event, a fashion show spread across the iconic mounds of Amos Rex, is a living art exhibition in which each ensemble is a unique work of art. The museum shop transforms into a sales gallery for young designers, while the Bio Rex cinema screens a series of international documentaries that offer intimate perspectives from iconic fashion designers on creativity and the world of fashion.

AMOS REX SS25 is a celebration of creativity, freedom of expression and diversity. Come as you are.

Helsinki Day

Thursday 12 June 2025

Come and celebrate Helsinki at the heart of the city! To honour the day, we offer free entrance to the museum. On the free day on June 12 2025, Amos Rex is open from 11 am to 8 pm. Entry closes at 7:30 pm, and visitors can stay until 8 pm.

Open Mic: Helsinki Poetry Con­nec­tion x Amos Rex

Tuesday 17 June 2025 at 6 pm

On Tuesday evening, the Amos Rex Shop will be filled with poetry as Helsinki Poetry Connection and Nuorten Open Mic take over the space with an inclusive and welcoming poetry event. Expect performances from invited guests as well as open mic participants, including Elsa Tölli, Aarni Pieski, and Kuisma.

The event is free of charge, substance-free, and open to all.

Yinka Ilori: Trans­par­ent Happiness

20 June – 12 October 2025

A sneak preview of the summer 2025! We are excited to announce that internationally acclaimed British Nigerian artist and designer Yinka Ilori MBA will design a new commission on the museum’s iconic courtyard in summer–autumn 2025! Launching in May 2025, Ilori’s large-scale public installation, will transform the museum’s domes into a participatory and functional artwork, inviting visitors to play and interact with the public realm in new ways.

Thursday 14 August from 6 pm to 11 pm

Come and spend the Night of the Arts at Amos Rex! To celebrate the evening, we are offering free admission to the museum from 6 pm to 11 pm. Entry closes at 10:30 pm, and visitors can stay until 11 pm.

At Night of the Arts, you can participate in:

  • Milla Koistinen’s solo piece Breathe, 8:30–9:30 pm at Lasipalatsi Square
  • Amos Rex exhibitions – We currently have four exhibitions on show: Anna Estarriola’s delightful and slightly offbeat solo exhibition, Enni-Kukka Tuomala’s body of work in Studio Rex, giving empathy a tangible form, the refreshed permanent display of the Sigurd Frosterus Collection, and Yinka Ilori’s art installation on the Amos Rex mounds.

Maja Ambient

Saturday 30 August 2025 from 11 am to 6 pm

Maja Ambient is an experimental sound piece that invites listeners to connect with their environment through sound. It will take place on 30 August and is organised by Maja Coffee Roastery (Kaya Nishikori and Tapani Huovinen). The event explores how the environment resonates with the human subconscious, aiming to evoke a feeling in those arriving — gently preparing them for a shift in time and space.

Held on Lasipalatsi Square, the program features seven artists and collectives working at the intersection of sound, performance, and sensory experience. Through continuous ambient soundscapes and site-specific performances, Maja Ambient encourages a heightened awareness of space, time, and community.

24 Hours with Tony Cokes

On 12 September 2025, Amos Rex closes the summer season with 24 hours with Tony Cokes – a rare and unique 24-hour programme featuring the American artist’s video works and live music performances.
