Gen­er­a­tion 2023

The application period for the Generation 2023 group exhibition has ended on 15 Nov 2021.

Creators aged 15–23 in Finland who are interested in artistic expression may apply for inclusion in this multidisciplinary exhibition, to be held at Amos Rex.

Exhibition participants will be selected on the basis of work proposals. You may propose up to three works or a series of works for the exhibition. A proposal may be a painting, drawing, game, web-based work, performance, video, dance performance, photograph, handicraft item, audio work – or anything done with passion. You can apply alone or as a group. If you apply as a working group, each member must be included in the application. The work does not need to be completed at the application stage, as long as there is a clear plan and cost estimate.

The application period has ended at 11 pm on 15 Nov 2021.

Application form and instructions:

• You may apply for the exhibition alone or as a group. Each applicant and each group member must be born between 1998 and 2006 and be based in Finland.
  You may propose 1-3 works, series of works or plans for a work for the exhibition.
• If the work is not yet completed or you are applying with an idea for a work, please note that a free-form written plan for completion of the work, indicating a preliminary budget and timetable, must be included in the application.
• Each work proposal must include at least one picture. This may be a screengrab, sketch or any other illustrative image, and there may be several of them (1-5 pictures/proposal, maximum file size 20 MB). A link is recommended for moving images.

The application period for the Generation 2023 group exhibition has ended on 15 Nov 2021.

The artists selected for the exhibition will be announced in April 2022 on the museum website, www.amosrex.fi. 

Works will be selected by a jury led by film director and/choreographer Ima Iduozee. The jury also includes Amos Rex museum director Kai Kartio, curatorial team members Anastasia Isakova, Krista Mamia and Laura Porola, as well as Generation 2020 exhibition artists Alex Luonto and Anna-Karoliina Vainio. 

Generation 2023 opens at Amos Rex in April 2023 at Amos Rex. The triennial exhibition’s ambitious goal is to present art by young creators.
