Purpose and Legal Basis for Processing Personal Data
The collected personal data is used to communicate about the POSITIONING A Symposium on Curatorial Thinking in the Nordic-Baltic Region & Beyond via email.

Amos Rex and Publics collect personal data directly from the data subject for the purpose of sending information related to the symposium.

Register Protection and Security Measures
Amos Rex and Publics are committed to implementing adequate security measures to protect personal data in all operations.
Access to the register is restricted within the organisation to viewing or updating data only to the extent required by job responsibilities.
Access to the register requires a user ID. The main administrator assigns access rights to users. Logging into the system requires a password, and use of the system occurs via an encrypted SSL connection.
Recipients of Personal Data
Recipients of personal data include third parties—i.e., data controllers and data processors—to whom personal data from the register is transferred or disclosed.
Amos Rex and Publics use data processors for handling personal data. The information is collected in a system provided by the service provider WordPress. A data processing agreement, as required by the GDPR, has been concluded between Amos Rex and WordPress.
Transfer of Personal Data Outside the EU/EEA
Personal data may be transferred outside the EU/EEA when required for the provision of the service. Such transfers always follow the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
Data Retention and Deletion
Amos Rex will retain personal data until 31 October 2025. However, the data subject may cancel their subscription at any time, after which their personal data will be deleted.
Deletion is carried out by technical means, and backup copies are also erased after a set period.
Automated Decision-Making and Profiling
Amos Rex does not use personal data for automated decision-making or profiling.
Rights of the Data Subject
Data subjects have the right to access their stored personal data, request correction of any incorrect or incomplete data, and request deletion of their data unless there is a legal basis for its retention. The data subject also has the right to request restriction of processing, to object to processing, and to request data portability.
The data controller may request verification of the data subject’s identity if necessary. The data controller will respond within the timeframe stipulated by data protection legislation (typically within one month).
Requests for access or correction must be submitted to the contact person responsible for register matters.
Right to Lodge a Complaint
Data subjects have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if they believe their personal data has been processed unlawfully. In Finland, the supervisory authority is the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman.
