OTE is a site-specific performance premiering at Dansbana! at Amos Rex. The work is inspired by the intricate and persistent labor of insects. Much of this complex activity becomes visible only when magnified under a microscope. In a similar way, OTE enlarges subtle physical negotiations, revealing tensions, repetitions, dynamics, and forces of interdependence within a large-scale space.
OTE does not see space merely as a backdrop, but as a living element that shapes and directs movement. Through the use of ropes, the work explores space as an active collaborator. It examines how architecture, bodies, and material structures coexist and create meaning in real time.

Alma Äijö and Taru Pellinen are dancers based in Helsinki, and OTE is their first collaborative duet work. Their collaboration is inspired by a shared interest in site-specific performance, the dynamic relationship between environment and dancers, as well as the physicality and precision of movement.
