Join an artist-hosted dinner event at the museum.

Date and time:

Wednesday 10 November 6–8 pm

Migratory Notes – Helsinki Edition explores migration, memory and belonging through taste.

Artist Emeka Ogboh, whose work can be seen in The Other Side of the Mountain, has developed a gin with Nordic Premium Beverages that serves as a kind of sensory map. The gin combines Finnish botanicals with ingredients that have travelled here along migration routes.

The artist-hosted dinner event, developed in collaboration with Helsinki restaurant Nomad Food & Wine, expands on these cultural narratives through food and a shared gathering.

Ogboh has created versions of Migratory Notes in cities around the world.

The event is for visitors aged 18 and over. You can also visit the exhibition during the event.

Ticket price €45. Tickets go on sale on this page from 27 October 2026.

The event is part of The Other Side of the Mountain exhibition, which is part of Southnord Artfest 2026.

Emeka Ogboh (b. 1977) is a Nigerian sound and installation artist who works between Lagos and Berlin. His multisensory works explore globalisation, postcolonial histories and encounters.

The exhibition features two new works: Transmissions, centred around a yellow Danfo bus that Ogboh drove across Northern Europe to Finland, and Migratory Notes, a dinner that explores migration, memory and belonging through taste. Many of his works are grounded in dialogue, whether between people, cities, or the ingredients of gin.
