Workshop:
Introspective Self-Portrait
~2 h
Language: Finnish
PLACE: Studio Rex
Date & time:
May 25, 5 – 7 pm
Welcome to a self-portrait workshop at Studio Rex led by Generation 2026 artist Rauha Helin.
At the beginning of the workshop, Helin, who works in the field of photographic art, opens up her own processes in self-portraiture: how her images come into being and how writing is connected to them.
In the age of social media, how things and people look has become increasingly important. Under Helin’s guidance, participants reflect on their relationship to being photographed and to self-portraiture in a selfie-saturated visual culture.
The workshop begins with a short writing exercise. The texts are for participants’ personal use and do not need to be shared. They serve as tools through which participants will create a self-portrait at the end of the workshop.
How does it feel to see yourself in a photograph after completing the exercises in the workshop?
led by: Rauha Helin
The workshop is part of the Generation 2026 exhibition.
