Accessibility issues

Users may encounter some accessibility-related problems on the site. We aim to clarify details and resolve these issues during autumn 2025.

Below is a description of the issues currently known to us. If you notice a problem not listed here, please let us know.

Visual issues

  • In some cases, headings placed over background images or videos may not have sufficient contrast.
    • Related WCAG criteria: 1.4.3
  • When using the site on a mobile device, the layout of the main navigation menu may have minor issues. For example, the menu may scroll horizontally beyond the screen edges.
    • Related WCAG criteria: 1.4.10
  • Videos include a pause button, but it appears only at the bottom of the video. The button is often small and light-coloured, making it difficult to see.
    • Related WCAG criteria: 1.4.11, 2.2.2

Use of assistive technologies

Findings that hinder screen reader use
  • Heading levels are used inconsistently in some places. For example, the structure may jump directly from H3 to H6.
    • Related WCAG criteria: 1.3.1, 1.3.2, 2.4.1
  • The footer section is not fully semantic. Errors occur in how the columns and the navigation links within them are structured.
    • Related WCAG criteria: 1.3.1
