Participatory sound work

~ 2 hours

studio rex

Join a sound session with suinner, trabelsi and Kofu.

Date and time:

Wednesday 16 December, 5.30–7.30 pm

Hit Different: En Route is a participatory sound work in which artists suinner, trabelsi and Kofu invite audiences to Studio Rex to listen and create a shared soundscape.

During the live session, the artists weave together pre-recorded and live sounds, echoes and moments of silence. They invite audiences to take part in the soundscape in different ways, at their own pace and in ways that feel comfortable.

You are also welcome to simply spend time in the space and listen. Studio Rex has soft places to sit and lie down. You can dance too, if you feel like it.

The event is free, but advance registration is required. Bookings open on this page at the end of October.

The event is part of The Other Side of the Mountain exhibition, which is part of Southnord Artfest 2026.

Kofu is the artistic alias of Moriamo Ahmed, a Finnish-born Nigerian poet, musician, and DJ. Their music travels through the sonic exploration of introspection, brought to life with vocal harmonies, violin, and experimental synth sounds.

Kofu aims to encapsulate the premise of honesty by sifting through themes of home, body, sorrow, and love. Their work revolves around concepts of love and identity, and the strain caused when the two don’t meet.
