What will the classroom of the future look like?

Amos Rex is participating in the Children and Youth Foundation’s Future Week from March 9 to 15. During this themed week, we invite everyone to reflect on what the classroom of the future might look like.

A museum visitor looks toward their reflection visible in a dimly lit, old-fashioned classroom.

Artist Leandro Erlich’s installation Classroom was first presented in 2017. The traditional, empty classroom has stirred different memories among viewers, but through this familiar, everyday space, we can also contemplate the future.

How will classrooms change when traditional desks meet the latest technology? What will a classroom look like in ten years, or in a hundred?

Classroom of the future

Imagine the classroom of the future. Let your imagination flow freely. How and where will people learn in the future? How many students will there be? Who teaches? How is the space furnished? Has anything familiar from the traditional classroom remained?
