Ars Fennica

Start your fall semester by visiting the Ars Fennica exhibition. Ars Fennica is the largest art award in the Nordics. The candidates of the 2019 Ars Fennica Award are Petri Ala-Maunus (Finland), Miriam Bäckström (Sweden), Ragnar Kjartansson (Iceland), Aurora Reinhard (Finland) and Egill Sæbjörnsson (Iceland).

Each exhibition visitor also has one vote in the Ars Fennica public vote. The vote takes place in the form of a marble race at the Studio Rex art workshop.

The exhibition is on view: 19 June – 8 September 2019.

Guided tours

Guided Tour

We welcome you to experience Amos Rex and Nordic art together with us! On our guided tours, pupils are accompanied by a professional guide, who will introduce the art through an explorative approach and inspiring discussions. At the end of each tour, each pupil can vote for their personal favourite from the Ars Fennica exhibition.

Intro

Intro offers a brief introduction to the museum and its exhibitions, leaving more time for independent exploring. If you are particularly interested in certain subjects or sections of the museum, please notify us when booking your tour and our guide will accommodate your needs whenever possible!

Ar­chi­tec­ture Tour

The architecture tour will introduce you to Amos Rex and Lasipalatsi through the story of the building. The exhibitions cannot be visited during the tour, making it possible to book this tour outside the museum’s opening hours, as well!

In­de­pen­dent visit

We recommend all groups to book their visit in advance. This can be done easily through our online form or by calling our service for booking guides. The booking service is open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays during 1–4 pm (Tel. +358 9 684 44 633).

Pupils and their teachers/instructors until secondary education can always enter the museum for free.

If you have a standing group booking, you may visit us in advance to plan the tour, free of charge. For the planning session, make your way to the downstairs counter and provide us with the time of the planned visit or booking number and we will provide you with a ticket.

Art Workshops

Art workshops can be booked again from October onward, during the Birger Carlstedt exhibition. Studio Rex art workshop will be open for visitors during the Ars Fennica exhibition, as the arena for a public vote on the exhibition.
